Who handles your data

MUATOO is the controller of the data you give us through muatoo.com. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we collect

  • Waiting list: your email address.
  • Account: name, username, email address and password (stored only as an irreversible hash).
  • Profile: whatever you choose to publish — specialty, city, bio and photos of your work.
  • Technical: a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in, a cookie with your preferred language, and basic access logs.

What we use it for

We do not sell your data. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

  • Telling you when the platform opens, if you joined the waiting list.
  • Running the service: your account, your public profile and the network features.
  • Keeping the service secure.

How long we keep it

Waiting list data, until launch or until you ask to be removed. Account data, for as long as you keep the account active. You can delete your account at any time and we will delete your data, except anything we are legally required to keep.

Your messages

Private messages are stored encrypted in our database: a backup or a database dump is not readable messages. That is NOT end-to-end encryption and we do not call it that: our server holds the key, so technically we could decrypt them. We would rather say so than promise something we do not deliver.

We do not read conversations, and there is no screen anywhere in the platform that lets anyone on the team open yours. The only exception is when you are the one reporting a conversation: at that moment the last twenty messages are attached to the report, you are told before sending it, and that copy is the only thing anyone reviews.

Your messages are kept for as long as the conversation exists. Deleting your account also deletes your messages; the other person stops seeing the conversation.

Email notifications

If you turn on email notifications, we send you a summary — daily or weekly, as you choose — of what you missed. It never includes the content of your messages or anyone else’s data: it says how many you have, not who from or what they say. You can unsubscribe in one click from the email itself, without logging in.

Where it is hosted

On servers we manage ourselves, with traffic protected by Cloudflare. We do not pass your data to third parties for their own purposes.

Your rights

You can access, correct, delete and export your data, and object to its processing, by writing to [email protected]. If you are in the European Union, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, if the change is significant, we will tell you by email.
