Who owns what you upload

You do. MUATOO does not take the rights to your work: we host it and show it so people can find you, nothing more. If you leave, it leaves with you.

The only thing you give us is the permission needed to show it inside the platform and in the preview of a shared link.

But the photo is almost never only yours

In this craft, one piece of work usually has three sides: whoever did it, whoever photographed it and whoever appears in it.

Only upload the photo if you have permission from whoever took it, and only if whoever appears in it said yes. You do not need a contract: you need to have asked.

If it was teamwork, credit the people who were there. That is what projects are for, and it is the difference between a portfolio and an album.

If something of yours is published without permission

Write to [email protected]. To act quickly we need the message to include:

• The exact link to what should come down. The profile alone is not enough.
• What you are in relation to that content: the person who created it, photographed it, or appears in it.
• How we can check: the original, an uncropped version, the date, where it was published before.
• A way to reach you.

What we do with it

• If a minor appears, or there is intimate content published without permission, it comes down first and is checked afterwards. No exceptions.
• In every other case, we take the content down and tell whoever posted it what was removed and why.
• We never give them your details. They are told which rule was broken, not who reported it.

If we took something down and you believe it is yours

Reply from your account’s email address and tell us why. Attach the original or the permission if you can.

Someone other than the person who removed it reviews it. If you were right, we put it back and say so.

A takedown does not close your account and does not count against you while it is being sorted out.

When it keeps happening

An account that builds up confirmed takedowns for posting other people’s work is limited: it still works for anyone with the link, but stops appearing in the feed and the directory.

Impersonating another artist — their name, their work, their city — does not go through that: it is immediate expulsion.

What we are not

We do not decide who is right when two people disagree about a photo. We can remove content from our platform; we cannot settle a rights dispute.

If the matter is serious, this replaces neither a lawyer nor a court.
